A FRIEND'S HOUSE
A Haven for YOUTH
A Friend’s House
A short-term shelter for runaway & homeless youth 17 and under
HONOR’s first concern when youths arrive is to make them feel safe and cared for. Once they feel comfortable with a place to sleep, access to meals and snacks, the youths participate in assessment services and then return to school. If necessary our specially trained staff makes the necessary referrals to medical or mental health services.
During their stay guests receive, tutoring, counseling, case management and mentoring with the goal of preparing them for re-entry into the community. After discharge from the program, case managers maintain contact with each teen so that they can continue to learn to help themselves with the support of caring adults.
Youth are precious resources to be developed, not problems to be managed.

HOPE for Youth in Crisis
HONOR’s Youth Outreach
Seeks youth in crisis and connect them
to the services they need
Our specially trained staff head out into the community to attempt to make contact with kids who may not currently be in the Child Protective Services or Foster Care system and might need emergency housing. The goal is to bring them to A Friend’s House, make them feel safe and comfortable before evaluating them for further services that may be necessary.
