Permanent Supportive Housing Solutions
Our Permanent Supportive Housing programs provide supportive services with the ultimate goal of helping our clients achieve independence and self-sufficiency. Through collaborative efforts, we offer resources and assistance that empower individuals and families to maintain their homes and rebuild their lives.
Stephen Saunders Residence
This dedicated HUD-funded housing program offers a safe and supportive environment for individuals in need of shelter and assistance in Hudson Valley. Stephen Saunders Residence offers permanent housing and support to individuals with disabilities or a history of chronic homelessness. This residence comprises 10 apartments in the city of Newburgh, NY.
Residents receive essential services including:
- Case Management
- Food Pantry
- Financial Case Management
- Health Home Care Management
Housing First
HONOR is proud to participate in the Housing First initiative, offering immediate access to housing through rental assistance programs In Hudson Valley. This approach prioritizes housing stability for the chronically homeless while providing counseling and support services to facilitate their transition into traditional living.

HONOR x Fearless! Hudson Valley, Inc.

Family Shelter
Also located in Middletown, N.Y, our family shelter serves as a temporary home for 21 families, offering refuge during challenging times. At HONOR, we believe in creating a nurturing and welcoming environment where our guests can rebuild their lives.
Here’s what our family shelter offers:
- A Welcoming Home: Our shelter provides a warm, safe, and welcoming environment where families can find solace and security.
- Nutritious Daily Meals: We recognize the importance of good nutrition, which is why we provide three balanced and nutritious meals each day, ensuring our guests are well-fed and cared for.
- Supportive School Transportation: Children staying at our shelter receive transportation to and from their respective school districts, ensuring they can continue their education without disruption.
- Educational Support: The Enlarged City School District of Middletown provides tutoring for all children of all age groups.
- Sensory Rooms: This new, state-of-the-art space provides a calming environment where children can reduce their sensory overload while enjoying specially selected tools and toys.
- Comprehensive Counseling: We offer counseling services to both families and single females, providing emotional support during their stay.
- Merlin’s Magic Space: The space was outfitted by Legoland to provide a magical experience for children to play and explore.
- Individualized Living Plans: We empower our guests to create personalized independent living plans, setting them on the path toward self-sufficiency.
- Access to Vital Services: Our guests have access to a range of services aimed at fostering self-sufficiency and helping them regain their independence.
A Friend’s House Youth Shelter
A Friend’s House is more than just a shelter; it’s a haven for Hudson Valley’s runaway and homeless youth aged 17 and under. The Hudson Valley Youth Bureau helps fund A Friend’s House. Our top priority at HONOR is to ensure that these young individuals feel safe, cared for, and supported from the moment they arrive.
Here’s what A Friend’s House offers:
- Safe and Welcoming Shelter: Our youth are welcomed into a safe environment where they have access to a comfortable place to sleep and nourishing meals and snacks.
- Education and Assessment: We understand the importance of education, which is why we ensure that our young guests can return to school. Our specially trained staff also conduct assessments to identify any additional needs.
- Supportive Services: During their stay, our youth receive tutoring, counseling, and case management to help prepare them for reintegration into the community.
- Mentorship: We believe in nurturing the potential of our youth. They benefit from mentorship programs and guidance to develop essential life skills.
- Comprehensive Care: Our shelter provides round-the-clock supervision, a structured daily routine, transportation for school and appointments, and engaging focus groups.
- Family Counseling: Family plays a vital role, and we offer family counseling to strengthen relationships.
- Community Engagement: Our youth are encouraged to participate in recreational activities, community service projects, and enjoy nutritious meals through our food and personal care packages.
- Individualized Plans: Each youth has a personalized service plan that guides their journey towards self-sufficiency.
